Steps of Concrete Imprint

Step 1 – Subgrade Preparation

The subgrade serve as a foundation which prevent drainage and can prevent soil erosion under the concrete.

Step 2 – Forming

The forms are made from wood, metal or plastic, that attached to stakes to contain the concrete in desired area. The condition of forms are very important to provide proper slope or grade for drainage and erected to create clean corners.

Step 3 – Installing Reinforcement

Using steel reinforcing bars or welded wire mesh to providing structural function and support in the slab. It helps control cracking, provide structural capacity, increase impact resistance, and reduce joint maintenance.

Step 4 – Placing the Concrete

Then, the concrete will be place in the desired area following by the screeding and finishing the concrete before it concretion.

Step 5 – Apply colour and Stamping

Before stamping, make sure that the concrete is dry and apply the desired colour. Stamping process will be proceed but be careful for raining season. The edges are pre-textured first because later when the larger stamps are used, they may overlap the forms and won’t be able to be fully depressed into the concrete.

Step 6 – Sealing Stamped Concrete

Sealer helps enrich the colour of concrete, add a sheen to the surface that reduces the chance that efflorescence will discolor the surface, and blocks penetration of stains from dirt, chemicals, leaves, etc.
